Hello Spring, so glad you made it.

There is something about the last month or so of winter that just feels like a blurry mess. It’s like your brain turns off and you just do anything you can to pretend the weather isn’t crappy and that you aren’t deathly sick of watching movies on your couch and that everyone you know isn’t also in a bad mood. Such a blessing that spring is here and also a tiny bit earlier than usual. Above you can see pictures from a trip I got back from not so long ago. Barbados was beautiful, the beaches stretched forever. It was such a nice relaxing week.

So what have I been up to this past month as winter has finally let up. Well, I’ve been watching lots of movies. This is pretty normal for me. I was a film student for four years. I also worked for a year at a repertoire theater, the type that had double features and didn’t charge you extra for the second film. This theater had Russ Meyers film festivals and played John Waters movies from the 70’s on a weekly basis. I always sat in on the second show after I cleaned the popcorn machine. I’ve been going through all my favourite films, one by one this past while. Swimming Pool, Lost Highway, The Cement Garden, All the Real Girls, Pretty Baby, Dream a Little Dream (R.I.P. Corey Haim), Santa Sangre, Annie Hall, Juno, Pump up the Volume, Let the Right One In, Gas Food Lodging, Closer, Some Kind of Wonderful, Valentín..anyway, yeah, I like lots of movies.

I like this song, by Joanna Newsom.

I splurge on these Sessun clothes in the spring. (They have this stuff at Charlie on Queen St.)

I love Vanessa Paradis. I was watching TV the other night and in the middle of a bunch of random boring commercials this came on. I saw the gap teeth and pretty much melted. I immediately went to my computer to find this.

I’ve also become a regular at Zoots Cafe. They just started serving brunch in the past couple weeks and it is absolutely delicious.

As far as my reading goes, well, what can I say, I’ve been reading L.A. Candy by Lauren Condrad for about 2 months. I know, just when you thought I might be a cool baby photographer I go and blow my cover by admitting to reading the worlds lamest, trashiest novel. It should take about two hours to read this book but instead it’s taken me about two months to get three quarters of the way through it..what can I say. Sorry. I’ll read better books this summer. If you’ve actually made it the end of this post, thanks for hanging in there while I rambled on about pretty much nothing. Tomorrow’s post will be much more exciting.
