The Hell Holes!

I didn’t take my big fancy camera camping because, well, that would be kind of stupid. Generally when I go away I bring this strange little half frame camera from the sixties. It takes these tiny, gritty pictures. Sometimes it works out and sometimes not. But it always has a way of capturing the essence of where I’ve been. Maybe it’s because when you go away all your memories become a bit foggy, all these new experiences crammed into a few days. You do your best to absorb everything but when everything is fresh and you are doing things like skinny dipping after drinking two bottles of wine and a shot of tequila at 5am well things become fuzzy. So here are some highlights: jerk chicken, getting lost after dark, kevin barking at everything, dead raccoon camping hats, Filipino BBQ, chili, burgers, ribs (yes, we ate well!!) dance party beside the fire, water air mattress that held 18 beers, make out point, Belleville Value Village and last but not least The Hell Holes. The pictures above were all taken at The Hell Holes an absolutely beautiful hiking trail near Kaladar Ontario. I’ve never seen so many pretty mushrooms! Well worth the drive. Thank you Bon Echo for making me not scared of camping, I actually miss you!
