Lady Day, October..
Every month I can’t wait for Lady Day. The day me and my favourite lady friends get in the car and get the hell out of the city. Every lady day is wonderful and exciting, there hasn’t ever been one were I thought that was just ok. They all make me feel refreshed, happy and eager to start planning the next one. Yesterday was a bit special though. There was romance in the air, everything fell into place in a way that was really magical. We started off picking apples and pumpkins at Birtch Farms. They also have a fruit winery there where we were given lots of generous samples of delicious fruit wines. I’m talking strawberry, cassis, pear, plum, blueberry. It was amazing! We got lost in the corn maze, played with bunnies and fed apples to horses.
The next stop was Stratford, the hometown of Justin Bieber. By far the prettiest town I’ve ever been to in Ontario (sorry Perth, Stratford was that nice!) The Stratford tourist shop provided us with Bieber maps and stickers and we did the Bieber walking tour. There was the best chocolate I’ve eaten outside of Belgium in a shop that smelt like heaven. The river was filled with swans. By the time the sun started to set and the sky was turning a golden orange I was feeling woozy with Fall, Stratford and the company of my amazing lady friends. Then, I kid you not, as we were driving home there was a giant rainbow arching over the freeway that we had to drive through to get back to the city. I felt like I’d won a best day ever prize.
