Not even a year ago I featured Greasy Chicken Face, as you can see here. I loved the artist Kristina Møller’s work so much that I offered her a trade, I took portraits of her beautiful children and she made me a giant bird water colour. It is huge and amazing!

So.. I’ve been following her progress over the past year and what I thought was awesome a year ago doesn’t even come close to what she’s up to these days. I have to say her new stuff seriously kicks ass! There is so much energy and fun in her new work, I don’t just want a big giant bird picture anymore. I want to invite her over, give her a lot of beer and pizza and have her paint the crap out of every wall in my apartment.

You can find more of her work here, and here and you can buy it HERE!!

Drive-In!!

Last week I headed home to Perth Ontario for a little bit of relaxing and hanging out with the family. One of my favorite things about Perth in the summer is going to the Port Elmsley Drive-in. I have memories of watching Bambi there when I was 6 and having girls night out there when I was 16, I’m pretty sure we saw Indecent Proposal. It hasn’t changed a bit. In some ways that makes it super run down but I’d take that over having it modernized any day. You can still get a hotdog for two dollars!

The Hell Holes!

I didn’t take my big fancy camera camping because, well, that would be kind of stupid. Generally when I go away I bring this strange little half frame camera from the sixties. It takes these tiny, gritty pictures. Sometimes it works out and sometimes not. But it always has a way of capturing the essence of where I’ve been. Maybe it’s because when you go away all your memories become a bit foggy, all these new experiences crammed into a few days. You do your best to absorb everything but when everything is fresh and you are doing things like skinny dipping after drinking two bottles of wine and a shot of tequila at 5am well things become fuzzy. So here are some highlights: jerk chicken, getting lost after dark, kevin barking at everything, dead raccoon camping hats, Filipino BBQ, chili, burgers, ribs (yes, we ate well!!) dance party beside the fire, water air mattress that held 18 beers, make out point, Belleville Value Village and last but not least The Hell Holes. The pictures above were all taken at The Hell Holes an absolutely beautiful hiking trail near Kaladar Ontario. I’ve never seen so many pretty mushrooms! Well worth the drive. Thank you Bon Echo for making me not scared of camping, I actually miss you!
